Paper Tiger, 106b Raeburn Place, Stockbridge, Edinburgh EH4 1HH
Our Stockbridge shop is located in this charming suburb of Edinburgh, just north of the New Town.
This area has a distinctive village feel, and, despite being a few minutes walk from the bustle of the city centre, it offers a very different Edinburgh experience. The heart of the area is Raeburn Place, where you will find our shop. We are surrounded by other independent businesses - retailers, cafes, bars and restaurants.
The actual ‘Stockbridge’ crosses the Water Of Leith, Edinburgh’s river, and was an access point for farmers bringing their produce to market. The Water Of Leith walkway is a popular green corridor for walkers, commuters, dog walkers and visitors. One of Anthony Gormley’s iconic iron men can be seen in the river on the upstream side of the bridge. Follow the river path west to St Bernard’s Well, Dean Village, Well Court, and back into the heart of the West End. If you feel more adventurous the walkway stretches for miles inland and down to the sea at Leith.
Stockbridge has pretty cobbled streets lined with elegant Georgian architecture, and no visitor to the area should leave without wandering down the beautiful, iconic Circus Lane for an essential Edinburgh experience! In the area you will also find Inverleith Park with play areas, tennis courts, bowling and petanque, a boating lake, and fantastic views of Edinburgh Castle and the city skyline. The Park hosts regular events including the Foodies Festival. The Royal Botanical Garden is also close by and even on a busy day it is always possible to find peace and tranquillity there. The weekly farmers market(Sundays) is brimming with local produce and is a huge draw to the area. The Neighbourgood pop up food market is worth seeking out, located on the historic Edinburgh Academicals rugby ground, right alongside our shop. Right behind our shop you will find the Grange Cricket Club, home ground for the Scotland national team.
With such a unique blend of history, culture, retail and culinary delights, Stockbridge is a must-visit for locals and tourists alike, and we are thrilled to be part of the community.
