The Chinese Year Of The Tiger Posted on 17 Dec 15:45
After celebrating forty years on the High Street in 2021, we are very excited that 2022 is the Chinese Year Of The Tiger!
The tiger is the symbolic for lots of different reasons and in lots of different cultures around our planet. The Chinese Zodiac is a repeating twelve year cycle of different animals. That cycle is based on the lunar calendar, which is the start date of the Chinese New Year changes.
The tiger is the third animal in the cycle, with each creature ascribed different attributes based on the perceived character of the zodiac animal. The tiger represents speed, vigour and ambition, and I like that a lot. It also represents generosity and self confidence combined with a sharp awareness of social justice and the greater good. I like that even more!
Personally I am rather sceptical of zodiacs and horoscopes, but it can be fun delving into some of the symbolism; I was born in the Year Of The Monkey which my children find hysterical, but has very little bearing on my personality!
The tiger does seem to have excellent principles to consider as we all move through 2022, so please keep an eye on this space...
