Edinburgh's Old Town runs from the Castle in the west to Holyrood Palace in the east, a Royal Mile through 1500 years of history. The rich and varied stories of the Old Town masked the rather earthy reality of Auld Reekie, and using herbs and floral bouquets was an essential way of masking the reality of life the medieval city!

Our candlemakers have combined distilled lime essential oil with a splash of orange and a dash of the essence of Italian Basil to supply a fresh and peppery edge to our Old Town candle, making it ideal for everyday use. Our scented candles are made with hand poured soy wax.

This photo was taken on the West Bow above Victoria Street. Normally it would be busy with visitors, families on half term trips. When I took the photo on Tuesday, it was empty.
