Sometimes all you need is the simplicity of intent, and a little bit of truth. I think this card does a lot of emotional work using those two principles.
Visually there's a hint of Keith Haring in lettering and the lines around the heart, but the sentiment brought Paul McCartney to mind. In my life, quite a lot of stuff brings him to mind, but I was thinking particularly of a song from the Wings album Red Rose Speedway.
The song My Love was the first single off the album, and was a big hit back in 1973. Lyrically and musically it is a quintessential McCartney work of the era: a homespun, loving and lovely tribute to the domestic bliss he enjoyed with Linda at that time, and to the joy that love brings to you.
